BACKGROUND SUMMARY

After graduation,I served in the U.S. Navy for 3 1/2 years then went on to college on the GI Bill and obtained a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas Sate University in Manhattan, Kansas. I was married to Dorothy Rockwell (class of '53), for 56 years. I retired in 1994 after 35 years in the Aerospace Industry working in the engineering divisions of the former companies of Beech Aircraft and Ling Tempco Vought. (now known as Raytheon and Loockheed-Martin).

We have three children; Eric, Kris and Bonnie, 6 Grand children and 3 Great-grand children. They all reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with their families. Dorothy unexpectedly Passed away in December 2009 due to complications in a simple gall bladder surgery.

I have always enjoyed being around animals of all types and as a boy I had pet bantam roosters, ground squirrels, an ole yella tomcat and a faithful purebred Cocker Spaniel. This interest carried over during the years of raising our family and we always had a family dog and usually several other pets such as birds hamsters etc. I first became interested in formal training and showing dogs in competition in 1978 when we purchased our second Pembroke Welsh Corgi from a local breeder who encouraged us to get involved in the local breed club. I became hooked and have been active in the breed club and training, showing and instructing dog training classes for all breeds continuously since that time. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are my chosen breed. I show in conformation, obedience, however my current passion is training and showing my Australian Shepherd (Jill). I am currently approved by the American Kennel club to Judge all obedience classes.

Goodland was a great place to grow up. I have fond memories of my childhood home and friends
