Dear 1950 classmates and friends,
I'm sending you a picture taken in 2009 for the church directory.
You'll probably say I don't look different except for grey hair.
I won't be able to come to the reunion, but things
could always be worse. I've got Osteoporosis and
Osteoarthritis. My left shoulder and hand are disabled so I no
longer drive a car.
I've fallen at least three times in two years, so
my gait is slow and painful.
I've always enjoyed traveling in the past, but don't any more.
Enough about why I can't join you.
Derby has been my home for 42 years. It has grown a lot
since I moved here. My daughter and son-in-law live
with me and my pretty black and white cat. They are the only family
I have left.
This has been the hottest summer ever. I believe the latest
count has been 39 days over 100 deg, the hottest being 111 deg.
The record is 50 days in 1936. If I could, I'd go to Colorado.
I'll end this update and hope someone
will write me and send pictures, if you can.
Sincerely,
Joyce Rew
